Tires For Every Occassion

One of the most important aspects of your car are the tires. The tires are what give you the friction to actually go. If you have ever been in a car that had bad tires, you understand just how dangerous it can be. There is a lot of technology and engineering that goes into the tires that go on your car. While there are many tires to choose from, there is a good reason for this. There are tires that are designed for very specific reasons. The engineering and technology that goes into these tires is amazing. Here are a few speciality tires, and what make them so amazing.

Summer Tires

If you live in an area that has good weather most of the time, you are most likely going to be using a summer or all terrain type of tire. This is a great tire to be using in warm areas. The rubber that these tires is going to be made out of is going to be a very hard rubber, but it is going to have a very interesting quality. The hard rubber is actually going to heat up and get a little bit sticky. This is going to increase the friction that you have on a hot road.

Winter Tires

A winter tire is going to be very different than a summer tire. First and foremost the rubber is much softer. Can you imagine driving on hard rubber, think hockey puck. The soft rubber that the tires are built out of will also often have small crystals built into them. The crystals are often quarts crystals. These micro crystals are going to give you a lot more traction in bad weather conditions. When there is snow or ice on the ground, you want to have a tire that can handle this type of weather.

Off Road Tires

The tires that people like to take in unconsolidated sediment needs to be a special type of tire. For the most part these tires are going to be a little bit softer, but the most important part of the tire is the tread thickness. You want the tire to be able to grab a lot of sediment, but you do not want the sediment to get trapped in the tire. The wide tread in the tires allow for great traction, but also allows the sediment to be flung from the tires.
